Where this site is described as having a view, that view belongs to the company named above, expressed through its editorial team. No individual writer is named, because naming one would suggest a personal authority the material does not rely on. There are no staff profiles here, no photographs of people and no claimed credentials, for the same reason.

What this site is, and what it is not

It is a knowledge base: a set of entries explaining the concepts around desktop online games, organised so that each can be read on its own. It is written to be useful before you install anything and after something has gone wrong.

It is not the official site of any game or publisher, and it is not a partner, reseller, authorised distributor or endorsed source for any of them. It is not a news outlet and does not report news. It carries no reviews, no ratings, no reader stories and no testimonials — not because those formats are illegitimate, but because a site funded by one advertising arrangement cannot publish them credibly.

How coverage is decided

Two separate decisions govern what appears here, and they work differently.

Category entries — the material on business models, requirements, accounts, classification, consumer rights and terminology — are chosen from the questions a reader in Australia would plausibly ask before or after installing a game. They are written to apply to any online game, and nothing in them depends on which title you choose.

Coverage of a specific game extends only to titles this publisher has an advertising relationship with. At the time of the last review that is one title, and it is identified as such on the games covered page. That is a narrow scope and it is stated rather than concealed: a site that listed twenty games while earning from one would be arranging coverage around income and calling it judgement.

The consequence is worth being blunt about. This site cannot tell you that the game it covers is better than one it does not, and it does not try to. No comparison of that kind exists here, because there is no basis on which the publisher could make one honestly.

How claims are handled

• Vendor claims are labelled as the vendor's. Descriptions of a product come from the publisher's own programme materials and say so, including any figure supplied by the publisher that has not been independently verified.
• Factual claims are sourced or generalised. Where a statement concerns law, regulation or a regulator's position, it links to the body that publishes it. Where a precise statement cannot be sourced, it is written as general guidance or left out.
• No prices and no classifications are stated. Both change. Both are one search away at the vendor's site or at the national classification database, which is where readers are pointed instead.
• No statistics are invented. There are no benchmark figures, test results, survey numbers or award badges anywhere on this site, because none have been produced.

How the site is funded

Through one advertising arrangement. Links to the World of Tanks website are paid links, and the programme behind them pays a commission when a reader creates and activates an account. Corrections

If something here is wrong, out of date or unclear, write to info@veloxnetwork.online with the page address and what you believe is incorrect. Corrections are made to the page itself and the review date at the foot of the page is updated. There is no comment system and no form, so email is the only route — which also means there is nothing on this site for you to fill in.

Review schedule

Every page carries a review date. Entries that reference government sources or programme details are re-read at each review and amended where the underlying source has changed. The date shown is the date of the last such check, not the date the page was written.
